Grandpa & Grandma 50th Anniversary

A wonderful night for everyone who attended the dinner I'm sure, and an unforgettable life memory of the children and grandchildren no doubt. From the preparation to the moment saying goodbye at the exit, I have to say, though lots of things were done in a kelam kabut and last minute state, we had done a great job!! Hugzz for everyone who worked hard together for the perfection of the night!!

An extremely simple love story from the early days, nothing romantic, nothing extraordinary, nothing like any plot in any drama, but it is REAL, the sharing of 50 years in their life....sweet, bitter and sour...

The dress code became more n more formal, initially guys jz wore long sleeve shirts and ladies dinner dress, then someone put on black coat, all guys followed, then ties, then flowers on the chest. .=.=lll Supposed to be jz a performance from the grandchildren, then added a song, then another from my uncles. .=.=lll Everything was so spontaneous and last minute, the problem of sound and computer system alone consumed most of the time we planned to rehearse. And still, we managed to catch a photo b4 tat :

I think my grandpa looks vr leng zhai in all white...:)

The night started with the playing of opening video repeatedly while waiting for all the guests, showing the pictures of both of them throughout the years

The red carpet walk was quite cute, we lined up alongside according to age, more so with my youngest cousin throwing shredded coloured papers in front.haha...

A few relatives good in singing then warmed up the dinner while few of us who supposed2 sing after them were nervous to death~~~~Oh ya, my uncles sang first, i forgot how was it ady bcoz at that time i was trying to slow down my heartbeats..T.T i think it was ok

3 girls and 3 guys singing '至少还有你" actually the songs on the night are mainly oldies. This is one of my grandpa's favourites, he's a hard core fans of 邓丽君. My hand holding the mic was shaking i know, but we managed to win great applause from the beginning, so....from tat i deduce we sang quite well,hahahhahaha...

Then it was the playing of short video which is the masterpiece of me and liyu( my cousin) after starring at the computer until our eye balls almost dropped out, to edit and edit again, and finally satisfied everyone and nah..here it is :

The atmosphere was really warm, the hard work was paid well, seeing everyone there doing the memory tracing together, laughed over the funny moment in the pic, cheered over the naked baby photo of my dad, the feeling was undescribable. It followed by the performance of sign language by all grandchildren which had been sent out for everyone in diff corner to practise, but still no chance for rehearsal...luckily the outcome was not bad. Half way of the performance grandpa and grandmom were leaded onto the stage, the song was finished with flower giving ,hugging and kissing from us.

The cake cutting

敬酒ceremony~~Yum Seng!! Thanks for coming!!感恩

Dad, represented his bro and sis to make a speech as he's the eldest. I thought he was going2 give lecture again, but unexpectedly the speech was sooooooo touching. Roughly about the purpose of the celebration ( we planned to have a simple family dinner only initially, but my grandpa wished to celebrate the moment with all the relatives who had been through and witnessed the difficult times together, he is the eldest and also oldest now, after seeing many of his ages had passed away, he appreciates more his remaning yrs gathering with his beloved ones), and something about 父母恩重难报经--the sacrifices of parents since the pregnancy, their gratefulness and how they loved grandpa and grandmom ( i swear to god i have never heard such thing from anyone of them b4 )

A very touching moment, almost everyone on the stage was tearing...me too....and i saw some of the relatives also wiping off tears.

Here are some other pictures to share:

~~Lovely~~

grandpa's brother who had been given away since young, but managed 2 keep in touch. Thisgranduncle sayang me alot though bcoz i m the only one he knows among the grandchildren. hehe...

a reunion fulled of gratitude--the brothers have not gathered like this for many many years. The dinner managed to get everyone of them attending bcoz my grandpa is their respected big brother who raised them up since he was 13 ( father died young). All 3 sis died ady

After dad leading his bro n sis went to 敬酒to every table, we , as the 3rd generation, went to 敬酒to our respective parents as well. Very sweet i can say...

The bro and sis of grandpa n grandma were unwilling2 leave and stil chatting until the manager of the restaurant said it politely tat they had2 close ady.hahahah...

The happiest person should be my Grandpa, he drank a lot ( we lifted the his alcohol ban jz for the nite, since he was on the cloud nine) but stil kept saying "Im not drunk, im jz happy...vr happy..''

Dad also getting abit over board as well, so excited jz lik big kid jumping around.

A beautiful memory~~

*SeriOus* some thoughts on Marriage

My laziness has always been fighting over the desire to pen down a post like this, too many of you have been disagreed with me on this diff thought of mine. It's not my purpose to change your view, we are all entitled to differ. But I always wanted to clarify certain misinterpretion u guys have on my view towards MARRIAGE.

Let me start with my stand on marriage in your perception--someone anti-marriage, holding negative thoughts about marriage, having no confidence towards marriage, and hating the formality of marriage?
BIG NO!! WRONG WRONG!!

I might be d one who put 'marriage' in a more sacred status than anyone of you do. No girl has no fantasy about having an ideal and perfect rship and thereto, a marriage life. Yes i do dream about that all the time, someone who truly loves me with his soul, cares about me as much as he does before & after getting into married, a dramatic proposal, a romantic wedding in somewhr like skopelos, having a little kitchen where we can cook 2gether, a cosy sofa where we cuddled in front of the TV, holiday in our dream destination twice a year, lovely kids that we can kiss goodnite everday etc....tell me, who dont? I will not let anything to get into my way, for me, its as simple as this, either i live a married life like this, or I will just being single ( as in not married, not 2 say i can live without a rship though. Girls always need the radiance of lOvE, thats the secret of staying young.hahaha...)

The reason that I used to say I am not adamantly wanting a marriage is not that I don care whether having one or not, it is my perversely insistence of having a perfect one. If I am not fully prepared for one or couldnt find one, I will not rashly get into a marriage. You would say 'who doesnt know about this theory?' yup, but i can say most of the ppl blindly get into an improper marriage just because they wanted to get married so much, thinking without one, their life won't be perfect. I agree with the qualification that without a good marriage, life isnt perfect, a pathetic marriage ( which is so common around you ) won't perfectionate your life but wil only makes it miserable at the same time ruining the wonderful anticipation that we devoted to the concept of 'marriage' , creating more failed examples to the masterpiece on earth--the unification of a man and a woman as a perfect whole.
Marriage, for these ppl would be reduced into a mere piece of paper with strings of problems resulting from the legal bond. To try out a guy and then only tear off faces in court, hurting the kids and family v love, arguing over the amount of maintenance, risking the prospect of our respective career in case it fails? NO WAY. if you want to try, try with a rship without this kinda consequences..a rship without the legality.

I just wan't to make sure before i decide to get into the( not 'a' ) marriage one day, I am prepared physically, mentally and financially to take on the responsibility and obligation attached, thought over the sacrifices and enormous effort that needed to be paid and happily willing to take it. The right person, right timing, right maturity, right circumstances, right preparation-- until i have found all these combination at any stage of my life~~> no marriage, i allow no smudge in my marriage if there is ever going to be one.
